Matariki Day.

Matariki: on Friday we celebrated Matariki on Friday. After assembling, most of the people in my class had to get all the little kids from the class. We had to help them. To get to their Matariki class. The people I was picking up were in arts and crafts. When I got them all I took them to their class. When I took them to their class I went to my class. I was also in arts and crafts but in a different class we were making kites and stars. We all started making stars. First we did patterns and cool colors. When we were finished we had to grab a big piece of paper and take it outside. We had to paint a sky for our stars to go on. I painted my one purple and blue. I blended both of it together  a little bit. When I did that I had to leave it to dry. After I left it to dry it morning tea time and we all went to play. When we came back from morning tea we started to glue our stars to our painting we had to put 7 starts on. When we finished we had to make our kite. We had to cut it into a diamond shape and put a little hole at the bottom. When we did that we had to design it, I did patterns with shapes. I also colored it green and blue and I was finished. We had to put strings through the hole and weave it. When we finished weaving it we had to tie it up. When I was going to put it on my paper it was lunch time, so we all went to lunch. When we came back our Teacher Mrs Stone gave us gummy bags whoever was finished like glued there starts on and finished the kite. And I finished all of them so I got to bags of gummies. When everyone finished we had to go to the hall for assembly we all sat down and listened to Mr Burt. when it was near 2:30 john sang a solo by himself when he finish it was home time when Mr Burt finished Mr Jacobson played the going out song and everyone went home.

What I'm Grateful For.

Today in the morning we had to do a theme on google draw. Mrs Llaoa choose the word for us
our word was Grateful. we had to put images what we were grateful of I was grateful for food and water. it because if we didn't have water and food we would be starving and we would very hungry and die. I am also grateful for friends and family because if I was bored or sad my friends and family would cheer me up or give me company.  I am also grateful for technology because we could play games on it with our friends and family.

Stand Up.

Today For reading we were reading about protest, there were 3 protests that we read about it was the springbok tour. it was about south Africa being dangerous to themselves and other countries.  also there was  Depression riots. this protest was in New Zealand in Wellington there protested because there didn't get paid enough. so there protested so there got more money. because mum's would make clothes  out  of old potato bags.

Black Lifes Matter

BLACK LIVES MATTER:  In America There was a man whose name was George Floyd. He had a fake 20 dollar bill in his hand. He was going to buy something from the store. When he got out of the store the police grabbed him by his shirt and put him on the ground. He handcuffed him while he was on the ground. He put his knee on his neck for him to stay still. He stayed like that for 1 minute. He said to the officer”I can’t breathe Office: he said the Office said shut up then. People start walking past and seeing him saying I can’t breath. Most of them said he can’t breath. And saying get off of him. He stayed like that for 2 whole minutes. After 2 minutes he was unconscious on the ground. When the police officer told him to get up but he didn’t he was dead on the ground the day after that it was on the news. And a lot of people protested when some of the police shot rubber bullets at them so they could stay back. There threw smoke bombs so the protesters couldn't see. But they threw it back to the police. Alos in other countries lots of people protest too like New Zealand we marched in the city and lots of celebrities did too. And in the new Zealand protest.  it relates to me because i'm brown too but not alos there are other brown people that get judged to everyday because there skin. like Africans there get judged because there skin. and that is why.
