It Wednesday! Week 7

Today we were learning how to check if you oil is good or not. We could tell how it was bad oil and good oil we could check from the colour of the oil. So if the oil is black then that is bad oil which mean's it's bad and it just died. But if your oil is kinda like golden syrup then that is good that yo can use. There's also a long stick in the engine that you can pick up and use to check how much oil you have.

Persuasive writing - Speeches

Do you think that kids should get paid to go to school?

For me no because kids may get too much money and spend it on lollys or bad things. And the school that gives the money to the kids. Might have other important stuff to spend the money on like for example someone smashes a window by accident and the school can’t repair it because they might not have enough money.  And kids may get selfish and greedy and change their personality because of money. And if the school has a bit too much money their school might have to shut down because they don’t have enough money to pay the teachers and to pay other important stuff. And all of the teachers may lose their jobs as the principal.

Falefitu Tony Laulu Suprise

Today we got surprised by Falefitu Tony Laulu, an author who writes relatable and more real books about our islander culture. He came to deliver us some books that he wrote about. He showed us his amazing books about pacifica culture and what it's really like in the real world now. He chose the characters to be his own sons because he thinks that most books now aren’t  about Pasifika Culture, and he wants to show what it's really like. He told us that most books are just about people who are not explained properly, so he had this incredible idea to add in his own family and friends to the story. He also shared his point of view about what ‘ REPRESENTING ‘ is. We would like to say a big thank you to Falefitu for coming out all the way to drop off your amazing books about pasific culture. Pt England School can't wait to read heaps of your books, and we’re all going to enjoy it.

Rugby

On Saturday I played 2 games against Waitake and Suburbs but there were only 10 people on the field. And each half was 25 minutes And only 2 minute breaks. Our first game was against Suburbs, it was a close game but in the 2nd Half you scored 3 or 4 tries which gave us a very strong lead. Then the full time whistle went, the score was 47 - 20 to Marist, straight after that game we had another game against Waitake. Their team didn't have enough players so we gave them some of our subs so that they could play. When we started we managed to score a few tries. And the other team scored 2 tries just before halftime and the score was 19-14 to Marist. In the 2nd half one of my teammates got a run-away tackle just short from the line but just before he dropped to the ground he offloaded it to me for a try.  And the score was 24-14 just before the whistle went for full time and they scored a try on the final play. And the score was 24-19 to Marist.

Time Problems.

Introduction To Time

Speech

I think that we should ban smoking in public places because there are other people around you and you need to be very mindful of others. There are also other people around you that really hate the smoke . because of how bad it smells. Also it is bad for little kids that inhale the smoke because when they inhale the smoke into their bodies, it makes it harder for them to breathe. It is also bad for you because the nigatene goes into your body but before that it gets stuck in your throat and it stays there for a long time. And it causes you to cough alot and it sometimes gives you bad teeth.

Conclusion: So when you get older Don’t smoke!!!!!!!

New South Wales V Queens Land Maroons

Last night I was watching a nrl rugby match that only comes once a year, The team names are New South Wales and Queensland Maroons.  The very first match was in  1903 11th of July. There are 3 games and whoever wins those 3 games gets a shield with their names on it. And if they win it the next time they play then they would still have the shield.  The game last night was in Townsville which is in Queens land. All you could see was maroons supporters. When the teams were ready the referee blew his whistle and Qld kicked it off to Nsw. Nsw had the ball and they quickly started to make meters. And in the first 10 minutes Nsw scored their first try. And they made a strong lead with 6 points. And from there they started popping off. Then Qld scored just before halftime. And the score was  24-6 to Nsw.  After halftime they got ready and the referee blew the whistle and Nsw was kicking off now.

When Qld caught the ball there passed to their forwards to make some meters  there and manage to make nearly 50 meters. Until it was their last tackle they kicked the ball in their 22 meter line. But luckily their fullback quickly grabbed the ball and ran it. He made pretty good meters.  Then after that they quickly passed it out to their wingers. And when they caught the ball there, quickly ran to the try line to score and luckily he scored. And the score was 32-6 Nsw had a very strong lead against Qld. And after that they scored 2 more tries after that and the score was 42. It was nearly full time but their halfback made a line break and scored.  And the score was 46- 6. And there was 2 minutes left and they scored again. It was a hat-trick and Nsw won 50-6.

Pes Picnic Explanation

Why? Is it good to have a picnic

Every year at point England school we have a picnic two times a year at, the start and the end of the year. It is good to have a picnic because it is fun and you get to bond with your friends and your family, can meet your teacher and friends And all the positive things at a picnic.

Having fun at the picnic is one of the reasons why it's a good idea  because you get to play outside all day with your friends. Also you could go and eat your lunch whenever you want and you can play lots of sports you like or you could go down to the beach and build a sand castle. Or you could go for a swim when Mr Burt called your team. While you're swimming you could also jump off the rocks. We go in the second week of school because it is going towards summer and we also do another picnic at the end of the year for summer and it is really good to.

Another reason why going to a picnic is to Bond with your friends. It is really fun to bond with your friends and go out and play sports with your friends or you can do karaoke with your friends. There are a lot of things to do at the beach. They also sell ice blocks there sometimes. And also Mr Jacobson gives out bikes to people who wanna ride on the footpath all the way to Dunkirk park and back because there's a big ramp that goes down and you would go really, really fast.

Another good reason is that you can bring your parents or your family members to make our school legal. and also if they come there could meet your friends and meet your teachers at the beach and they will also look after you.

So a picnic is really good because you can bond with your friends and if you bring your family there you can meet your teachers and your friends. It is really, really, fun to have a picnic.

Letter To Mrs Ilaoa

 Dear Mrs Ilaoa,

Dear Mrs Ilaoa my name is Brendon And I am 12 years old and I go to Pt England school and I come from an island called Tonga.

I am the 2nd youngest out of five of us, I have two older brothers, one older sister and one younger sister. Me and my Family are really into sports but our most favorite sport is rugby My cousin is now playing in the Canberra raider in Nrl. We also love other sports too, such as basketball and other sports as well.

I really like to keep fit and play with my friends all the time. We always play touch out on the field and sometimes we get really, really get competitive. And sometimes the game gets really intense and sometimes when the bell rings we do the final touch meaning if you get touch the game is over.

Here is something I like and dislike about school. What I like at school is that we get to use Chromebooks to help us with our learning and I am really grateful to use a Chromebook. What I also dislike about school is that sometimes we still use pen and paper sometimes.

My goals for 2021 is to get sportsmen awards and to get a scholarship to very good schools like sacred heart, st kents and other good schools as well and to get smarter and in school.

I really like it when teachers like Mrs Ilaoa comment on my blog because it really motivates me to get more stuff up on my blog. And when they help me with my work I have lots of gratitude for my teachers.
