Magic Number

On the day of the wedding

Last tuesday it was my auntie wedding in australia in Melbourne. I went with My dad, my mum, my sister and nana. We went on a plane to Melbourne l was so excited to see my cousin.

On the day of the wedding, l dressed up in my suit but first l needed to wash myself and dry myself.

The  wedding was  in the hall they were cool werbes and cool lights it was so fancy.

My auntie was soo happy and she looked so beautiful when she went to dance with her dad

The wedding  was so fun. When l was outside my cousin told me to sated on the ground to pushover my cousin she fall on top of me she was very heavy and my cousin run away and l run fast as l could and hide in the trees and l run back inside.

I loved the wedding so much it was funny because l was keep on slipped on the grass because it was so wet. When went outside it was so cool l got to swing on the the on the chairswing it was so cool l almost fell over because it was unstable.

Magic Number

Recorder

Room 13 got to play with the recorder. We were trying to play some of the notes. Some of us Then me and Siua got the notes right so we got to choose a new instrument. We chose the ukulele. We were playing it outside as we were trying to tune it, but we couldn’t. Then we had to go back inside, Miss KIng told uOsa to play the song on the glockenspiel and he got it right.

Little Garden

Yesterday we were planting plants. We got to pick a little garden. We put the soil in a container and we put water on our little garden. The soil was growing fast then we smashed it. We put the soil back in the little bucket. Then i put the seeds in the bucket and put the rest of the soil on top. My plant needs water, soil and sun to grow.

Pattern

Little Red Riding Hood

I have been working hard to learn how to use iMovie. My friends and I filmed the story of Little Red Riding Hood with our teacher. I drew the picture of Grandma's house.
We learnt to do green screen, add voice overs and even a Garageband.  It was hard work and my teacher helped us a lot to learn lots of new skills.

The Bush

Room 13 went to the bush. We found some sticks for me and Lee to make a hut.  l went to

Oas he was climbing a tree and he broke the tree. He was still  holding on even though it had broken. We tried to lift the log u but it was too heavy. .l found a seat for me, it was a tree stump. l looked under the seat they were bugs and beetles. Then Miss King said 2 more minutes l saw Caleb with a big log. Miss King said it was time to go back to school.

Cross Country

• lt was a hot and sunny and we were waiting for our cross country race. L was feeling neruous while l sat on the concrete. We lined up and were ready to race.
• L run as fast as l cold  l crossed the finish line l love cross country we covered in mud
• As quickly as l could l ran through the muddy grass chasing my friend. Out of breath sore legs my heart  was  beating son fast but l never gave up filled with energy l started to sprint to the finish line.

Stardome

On Wednesday team 3 visited the Stardome Observatory at Cornwall Park. We  played in the park with our friends. We were excited to go to the Stardome. We went into the stardome and we went in  inside the classroom. We were so excited to learn we learnt  so much about how Venus is hotter than mercury because venus has 100000 blankets and 10 hats around it. That’s what make it hot. Then we went back into the bus we sang Step by Step all the way back to school.

Place Value

We are Learning aboat place value. This is my movie l made with my friend

Shadows

If an object blocks sunlight the place behind the object is dark. This is called a shadow.

The size of the shadow depends on the angle at which the light is falling on the object. Your shadow keeps changing throughout the day. It is longest in the early morning and the late afternoon. At midday, when the sun is overhead there is little or no shadow at all.

Car Race

Today I made this animation and wrote this story.

My Rocket

My rocket was big. I went inside the rocket and I was excited to go to space. It was time to go 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Lift off to the moon! The engines blast off for space. I put my flag on the moon and then boosted back to earth,

The Moon

The Moon was probably made 4.5 billion years ago when a large object hit the Earth and blasted out rocks that came together to orbit round the Earth. The Moon is much smaller than the Earth. It is airless, waterless and lifeless. The gravity of the Moon, causes two high tides on the Earth every day.

The first person to walk on the Moon was the American astronaut, Neil Armstrong. He stepped out of his space craft, the Eagle, on 21 July 1969 and said these famous words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”.

The Sun

The sun is the largest star in our solar system, however there are many stars like it in the wider universe. The earth is just the right distance from the sun that our planet is not too hot or too cold. The light from the sun takes 8 minutes to reach earth and gives life to plants.  Astronauts will never be able to land on the sun as it reaches 5500 degrees celsius - 100x hotter than humans can stand.

The sheer size of the sun means that its gravitational pull forces all the planets in our solar system to orbit around it. Born 5 billion years ago, the sun has been producing heat and light for a very long time.

Superhero

All the superheroes had colourful costumes of all variety . The Large muscular green man was so strong that he couldn’t be defeated. Standing with the round shiny stripy shield , Captain America is the defender of the world.

Room 13 went to the bike track . Miss King  had some wood we were talking together how to make a ramp..

We ask Mr Shaw, “Can we please use some wood?” Mr Shaw said “Yes”.

We nailed on the wood and we  were taking turns hammering the nails into the wood. Osa went first. I was holding the wood  and l got a turn.  Siosiua bent the nail.

Finally we rode the bikes. Miss King put the ramp down the hill. Around the court we rode faet. We did some wheely. Some of us did some crashes.

Miss King  got us the ramp. We rode fast and fun so thanks to Miss king

Matarikiki

Pt England School celebrated Matariki by having a special day. The whole school celebrated with an assembly in the morning and then fun activities for the rest of the day.

All the kids were split into groups for the activities. We got to work with a different teacher and other kids all day long. Some of the activities were crafts, sports, music and movies.

The activity I got to do was the activity l got do was cooking and crafting and we were working with miss Lae l made a box l decorated the box and l put airg on the biscuits and l got to put lollies on the biscuits l put it in my box  and miss Lae sied you can eat one biscuit. We had the most fun celebrating Matariki

One day some pirates  were guarding their treas. On an island suddenly a soldier came in his blue boat. He was angry because the pirates stolen his treasure. He wanted it back. As he rowed  toward the island he saw a green crocodile. How was he going to get past green crocodile to get to the treasure? The pirates were ready to battle. One of the pirates was holding a telescope and a sword.

Tamarereti Animation

We have been learning the story of Tamarereti. Here is my animation I made with Hyperstudio.

Beside Lake Taupo was a village. In the lake there lived a scary Taniwha who would eat people when it was dark. There were no stars in the sky at night - which made night time very dangerous.

One day Tamarereti went fishing in his waka and he was blown by the wind to the other side of the lake.

After a long sleep, the sky was dark. Tamarereti was afraid of the Taniwha - but he had an idea.

On the beach lay many shiny pebbles. He gathered the pebbles. Tamarereti threw the pebbles into the night sky where they became stars.

Now the sky was too bright for the Taniwha and he stayed hidden.

Tamarereti made it safely home again.

Once upon a time there was village with heaps of gold then some pirates came to attack for some gold. They burnt the houses, they fought and the pirates won.

Puddles

It was a rainy day outside.and it was sooooo boring inside. Outside was a big  puddle. I like puddles  because l like sliding  

Miss King sied  “Who wants to go to the puddles?” “I do”  everyone screamed. We were so excited we rushed to put our togs on and we ran to the world’s biggest puddle.

We did  some bombs and we did slides it was so cool. Moui did a big dive.  We saw a another puddle by the trees, it was so long.  There was a big puddle by the pump track and we jumped off the pump track and into the puddle.  We ran so fast back to the first puddle and we did a big slide.

Miss King counted down while Mr Burt came. Miss King said “20 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 10…” and we did  one more tummy slide. Miss King was still counting 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 and l did one more tummy slide and l ran back to class.

Everyone sied it was so cool and we  watched  ourselves on the AppleTV

Forces on a Kite

Gravity is the force that pulls everything down to the earth. Gravitational force pulls everything to the centre of the earth. The bigger the mass, the larger the gravitational force. Without gravity we would all float off into space.

Drag is the force that slows the movement of an object through air or water. As a moving object pushes the water and air out of the way, the water or air pushes back on the object. This drag force is always opposite to the way the object is moving. The drag force increases as the object moves faster.

Thrust is the force that moves an object. When flying a kite, the thrust comes from wind. The thrust must be stronger than the drag to make the object move.

In a plane, thrust comes from your legs.

Lift is the upwards force on the kite. Lift is created by air flowing around the kite. The different speeds of the air flowing around the kite make it lift into the air.

tamarereti

Long ago the sky was dark and had no stars.

Deep in Lake Taupo lived a scary taniwha who ate people when it was dark. One day Tamarereti woke up he felt really hungry. Tamarereti went out fishing and caught lots of fish. He fell asleep and his waka drifted to the other side of Lake Taupo.

Tamarereti was hungry so he cooked his fish. It was dark and he was scared of the taniwha, but he had an idea. On the beach lay many shiny pebbles.

Tamarereti gathered as many pebbles as he could hold and set off in his waka.  As he sailed back to his village, Tamarereti threw the shiny pebbles into the sky where they settled to become the stars of Matariki.

Beach trip

Room 13 went to the beach. We ran to the beach because we were excited. We ran to the cliff to look for some cley hidden in the cliffs. We wanted to get as dirty as possible. I made a big clay ball. I gave it to Gabriel. Caleb threw a clay ball at Jermaine but he side stepped it. Jermaine threw a clay ball at Caleb and it whacked Caleb in the back. Soane came along and said “It’s Maui time!” and then Moui said “I am the real Moui.” we looked for some crabs. We put all the crabs in the bucket and the crabs nipped me on my finger. My finger stung. It was stuck on my finger. I slung it it way back in the sea. It was time to go home. We climbed up the hill and we rolled down the grass to clean the mud off. We walked back to school.

the water l kick my legs so fast all the way to the island. Diving into the water I hit my head and it hurt. The best part was going under the water it was so fun.

Rain

All night long the rain slammed into the window.
Pouring down outside the rain soaked the washing.

Quickly the stream turned into a raging river.

Across Auckland people cleaned their flooded houses.

school picnic

On a hot sunny day pt england school `went  for a picnic the sana was fall of children and they splasned in the water. Mad spuelched under our tocs and crabs bit  our fingers l enjoy ed play  play with my friends and l had so much fun

Last week l went to the opening of the bike track we sat in the hot sun listening to people singing waiata. Some lucky children got to go for a ride l wish l had a turn

the creek

On Wednesday we lined up at the gate with team 3. We went to the creek to clean the disgusting creek. First we walked to the horrible creek it smelt stinky like Mr Moran’s armpits. Next we went to the farm and picked up terrible rubbish and we saw a horse. We stopped to talk to the horse. Finally we went to play tag on the park before we went back to school.

Duffy Show

I want to the hall with my class to see the Duffy Show. It was about saving the world and to get more trees. l liked it  because it had funny characters.

Omaru Creek

This morning I went for a walk with my class to see the Omaru creek. I saw ducks and pukeko because we are going to change this rubbishy creek.

The Bird

Dear Bird,

How did you die? We bless you with all of our heart.

We were walking in the morning on our way to the park when we found you. So Jermaine asked Mr Shaw for a shovel to take care of you. We wanted to take care of you because you are God’s creature.

Lee took the shovel and scooped you up gently. We carried you to the farm and we stopped under a tree.

Anthony started digging the hole, then everybody had a turn. Finally we put you in the hole and Lee said a prayer for you.

We all walked nicely back to our class.

We love you and we hope that you rest in peace and live with God.
